  2. Start at the lowest speed and let your pet become familiar with the sound.
  3. Hold the paw gently and keep fur, fingers, clothing, and jewelry away from the rotating head.
  4. Grind in short 1–2 second passes, removing only a small amount at a time.
  5. Check the nail frequently and allow it to cool between passes.
  6. Use extra caution with dark nails, where the quick may be difficult to see.
  7. Stop if your pet becomes uncomfortable or if the nail feels warm.

I thought it was going to go wrong, but it works 10/10, it's much better than a nail clipper. Once the dog gets used to the sound, it's very easy. Recommendation: don't spend too much time on one nail at a time; gradually, with each nail, use a file at full speed. The dog's nail can get hot and hurt, so do it very carefully.
